The PGA Tour returns for the famous Zurich Classic of New Orleans tournament to be played at the TPC of Louisiana in Avondale from 24 to 27 April, 2014. The tournament is played over 72 holes stroke play covering a total distance of 7,341 yards.The tournament has a purse of USD 6,800,000 with the winner’s share of USD 1,224,000. The winner will also be the recipient of 500 FedExCup points.The defending champion at the tournament is American Billy Horschel who won the 2013 edition of the tournament with the winning score of 268 (-20) in what was his first victory on the PGA tour.
Horschel will be accompanied by 155 other golfers. World no. 6 Justin Rose will be seen competing at the tournament and no. 33 Ernie Els, who is participating here for the third straight year. Patrick Reed, world no. 20 will also be playing for the title this year. Other notable players in the tournament include Rickie Fowler, Ryan Palmer and Matt Every. This tournament, started in 1938, kicks off at 11:00 AM EST on Monday, April 20th, and will only have 10 of the top fifty giving many other players the opportunity to rise to the occasion and grab their first career PGA tour victory at the New Orlean's Classic.
