WGC CA Championship Live

The World Golf Championships comes to Florida with a PGA Tournament this week, from the TPC Blue Monster Golf Course that is located at the Doral Golf Resort and Spa and will be held from March 8^th to the 14^th. This tournament features one of the best fields so far this year and offers golfers a shot at the prize purse. This is one of four championships that are sanctioned by the International Federation of PGA Tours which encompasses the PGA Tour, PGA Tour of Australia, European Tour, Japan Golf Tour and Asian Tour among others. The other three championships in this category are the Accenture Match Play Championship, The Bridgestone Invitational and The HSBC Champions. The course is a Par 72 and is 7,266 Yards. Phil Mickelson is the defending champion from last year and the field size is estimated to be seventy five players.

Speaking of the field, fourteen of the sixty eight thus far are champions in Majors. These include Geoff Ogilvy, Mike Wier, Stewart Cink, Zach Johnson and Lucas Glover as well as Jim Furyk, David Toms, Angel Cabrera and Y.E. Yang along with Retief Goosen, Vijay Singh, Ernie Els, Padraig Harrington and defending champion Phil Mickelson.
