The grand Valero Texas Open will bring together top PGA TOUR golfing players and provide weeklong entertainment to Alamo City. The 2014 Valero Texas Open will commence on March 24, 2014 and end on March 30, 2014. This is the fifth year running of Valero Texas Open. The tournament will feature brilliant golfing talent and top players from all around the world. The two brilliant green courses that are used by the golfers have been designed by Pete Dye and Greg Norman.

There will be a total of 144 top golfing professionals who will participate on the AT&T Oaks Course at TPC San Antonio, USA. They will be competing for the $6.2 million that is up for grabs. This week on the PGA Tour, the Valero Texas Open, which is from the 4th of April to the 7th. This tournament is at the JW Marriott, and TPC San Antonio in San Antonio, Texas, which has a $6,200,000, and will be played for 500 FedEx Cup points. The next event on the calendar is the April 11th through the 14th Master's Tournament, held at the August National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia, with an $8,000,000 purse. The one after that will be the RBC Heritage which is at the Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head, South Carolina.

It is worth a top prize of $1,116,000 and 500 FedEx Cup points, and the dates are from April 19th through the 22nd. It was won last year by Brendan Steele and he will be back this year to defend. The La Cantera Golf Club in San Antonio, Texas is the course that is hosting this year's Valero Texas Open. The winner of this tournament takes home over a million dollars in prize money and the purse total is 6.1 million dollars.

The tournament takes place May 11th through 17th at the La Cantera Golf Club. La Cantera has been the host since 1995, but this will be its last year as the event is moving to the AT&T Oaks Course at TPC at San Antonio. This event is full of golf history as many of the greatest golfers in the world have played – and won – in this tournament, Arnold Palmer won it three seasons in a row, as well as Sam Snead, Ben Hogan and Tommy Armour III who made a record breaking 274 shot in 2003.

Last year, Tim Wilkinson took fourth with a score of 64, and Mark Wilson in third. Charlie Wi lost by two strokes, taking second place and 2007 Masters Champion Zach Johnson took the 2008 title. Johnson also won the Bell South Classic in 2004 and the 2007 AT&T.
