The Oaks Course at the TPC San Antonio, in San Antonio, Texas in the United States is the place where the Valero Texas Open will be staged, a Par 72 course that has a total yardage of 7,522. The course was designed by architect Greg Norman with the help of professional golfer Sergio Garcia. The winner of this event walks away the grand prize of $1,098,000. The La Cantera Golf Club in San Antonio, Texas is the course that is hosting this year's Valero Texas Open. The winner of this tournament takes home over a million dollars in prize money and the purse total is 6.1 million dollars.

The tournament takes place May 11^th through 17^th at the La Cantera Golf Club. La Cantera has been the host since 1995, but this will be its last year as the event is moving to the AT&T Oaks Course at TPC at San Antonio. This event is full of golf history as many of the greatest golfers in the world have played – and won – in this tournament, Arnold Palmer won it three seasons in a row, as well as Sam Snead, Ben Hogan and Tommy Armour III who made a record breaking 274 shot in 2003.

Last year, Tim Wilkinson took fourth with a score of 64, and Mark Wilson in third. Charlie Wi lost by two strokes, taking second place and 2007 Masters Champion Zach Johnson took the 2008 title. Johnson also won the Bell South Classic in 2004 and the 2007 AT&T.
