The PGA Tour will finish up the U.S. Open of golf and head into the Traveler's Championship, a tournament that follows on the heels of the CVS Caremark Charity Classic. The Travelers Championship is scheduled for June 23^rd to the 26^th and the venue is the TPC River Highlands, which is an amazing golf course located in Cromwell, Connecticut, and certainly worthy of play by the professionals on the PGA Tour. The purse for this tournament is $6,000,000 and it is worth $1,080,000 and 500 FedEx Cup points. Bubba Watson was the big winner last year, taking first place with fourteen under. He'll be back again this year to defend. Corey Pavin and Scott Verplank tied for second and Chris Riley came in fourth.

Between the U.S. Open and the AT&T National, which will be hosted by Tiger Woods, comes the Travelers Championship on June 25^th through the 28^th at the TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, CN. Woods will be defending his U.S. Open title a week earlier, at the Bethpage State Park Golf Club on Long Island. Woods is still recovering from recent knee surgery, but will host the AT&T National from the Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland. Although the Travelers Championship fell where expected this year, a schedule change came from the PGA Tour Policy Board moving the Valero Texas Open to May 14^th through the 17^th, from where it was previously placed in the Fall Series. It replaced the discontinued FedEx Cup Atlanta tourney.

Committing to the tournament this year is FedEx Cup points leader Zach Johnson, as well as David Toms and Chris DiMarco. The 2009 field also includes Stuart Appleby, Woody Austin, Chad Campbell, Sergio Garcia, Paul Goydos, Bubba Watson, Vinjay Singh, who is the current FedEx Cup Champion, Kenny Perry, Justin Rose, Cory Pavin, Rod Pampling.

Sean O'Hair and Nick O'Hern are playing, as well as Justin Leonard, Anthony Kim, Hunter Mahen and Billy Mayfair. This is one of the biggest tournaments of the year, and these players will be competing for an incredible $6,000,000 dollar purse on the 25^th. 2008 defending champion Stewart Cink will also be playing this year.
