Between the U.S. Open and the AT&T National, which will be hosted by Tiger Woods, comes the Travelers Championship on June 25th through the 28th at the TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, CN. Woods will be defending his U.S. Open title a week earlier, at the Bethpage State Park Golf Club on Long Island. Woods is still recovering from recent knee surgery, but will host the AT&T National from the Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland. Although the Travelers Championship fell where expected this year, a schedule change came from the PGA Tour Policy Board moving the Valero Texas Open to May 14th through the 17th, from where it was previously placed in the Fall Series. It replaced the discontinued FedEx Cup Atlanta tourney.

Committing to the tournament this year is FedEx Cup points leader Zach Johnson, as well as David Toms and Chris DiMarco. The 2009 field also includes Stuart Appleby, Woody Austin, Chad Campbell, Sergio Garcia, Paul Goydos, Bubba Watson, Vinjay Singh, who is the current FedEx Cup Champion, Kenny Perry, Justin Rose, Cory Pavin, Rod Pampling.

More than 200,000 fans are expected to attend this event, as Connecticut brings the world's best golfers together at the TPC River Highlands, and new this year are some special events for the fans such as the Michelob Ultra 19th Hole Concert Series, Women's Day, and a fan zone that features a wine garden, miniature golf and dining areas.
