Transitions Championship Live

The PGA Tour will hold the Transitions Championship this week, followed by the Arnold Palmer Invitation presented by MasterCard, at the Bay Hill Club and Lodge in Orlando, Florida. After that, the Tour goes to Humble, Texas to play the Shell Houston Open, at the Redstone Golf Club Tournament Course starting on March 31^st. The Transitions Championship will be held from March 17^th through the 20^th and it happens at the Innisbrook Resort Copperhead Course in Palm Harbor, Florida. The purse is five and a half million dollars and the previous title holder was Jim Furyk, who took home $972,000 last year as well as 500 FedEx Cup points, and will be returning to defend his title again this year. He had a score of -13 when the tournament was over with K.J. Choi coming in second with -12 and Bubba Watson taking third plae with -11. Nick Watney and Retief Goosen were fourth and fifth.

Blake Adams is on the field this year along with Nathan Green and Stephen Ames. Stuart Appleby and Geoff Ogilvy will also be playing along with Bill Haas, Padraig Harrington, Kenny Perry, Alvaro Quirros and Trevor Immelman. This tournament features a near five and a half million dollar purse with the winner's share being $972,000. There is also 500 FedEx Cup points up for grabs. Retief Goosen won last year making Par on the last hole to gain the victory finishing up with 1 under seventy and avoiding playing it off with Charles Howell and Brett Quigley. There are events on both Sunday and Monday, with the actual practice rounds not beginning until Tuesday and then the Pro-Am tournament will be held on Wednesday, March 17^th. The official start of tournament and first round will be the following day on Thursday, March 18^th. Second round is on Friday and Third is on Saturday. The final round will be held on Sunday, March 21^st.

The field this year consists of some great players Stuart Appleby among them, and Michael Bradley, who won the tournament that is being held the week prior to this one the previous year and is also defending in the Puerto Rico Open, Stewart Cink, Bob Estes, Jim Furyk and many others.
