The PGA Tour holds The Shark Shootout Live this week, the last official calendar event on the PGA Tour 2010 calendar. This is going to be an exciting competition that features 24 of the best golfers in the world competing and will be yet another tournament that marks the end of the 2010 season of PGA Tour golf. The Shark Shootout live will take place Friday, December 10th through Sunday, December 12th at the Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Florida in the United States. The field of twenty-four are competing for a giant three million dollar prize purse, of which the winner will take home a check for $375,000. The Tiburon in Naples is a Par 72 course and is 7,288 yards. The Shark Shootout team event has been held since 1989 and has always been held at the Tiburon Gold, and last year's winning team was Jerry Kelly and Steve Stricker.

The field this year includes Mark Calcavecchia, Dustin Johnson, Jeff Overton, K.J. Choi, Kenny Perry, Darren Clarke, Ian Poutler and Rory Sabbatini as well as Justin Leonard and Steve Stricker. Also competing in the tournament thisy ear is David Duval, Davis Love III, Rickie Fowler and Graeme McDowell as well as Bubba Watson, Fred Funk and Mike Wier. It's the 21st Annual Shark Shootout, part of the PGA Tour for 2009. The tournament takes place December 9th through the 13th and the field includes some pretty great names, with 24 professional golfers taking part in this event. It's sponsored by Merrill Lynch and is hosted this year by Greg Norman, member of the World Golf Hall of Fame. The format is 12 two man teams with $3,000,000 dollars up for grabs as these golfers compete starting on Wednesday. Last year's champions were Scott Hoch and Kenny Perry. Tuesday the golfers will get a chance to practice, and then Wednesday, the official start of the tournament, will be the first round of the Pro-Am tournament, with the second round on Thursday. The first round of the regular tournament starts Friday, with round two on Saturday and then Sunday, December 13th will be the final round for The Shark Shootout.
