This tournament will come to you from the TPC Southwind which is located in Memphis, Tennessee in the United States. The course is a Par 70 difficultly and the total yardage is 7,244 yards. The tournament benefits the St. Jude Children's Hospital and one player that will be making a splash is sixteen year old Jordan Spieth who wowed everyone present at the Byron Nelson Championship by tying for sixteenth place. However, as he enters this second start of his career on the PGA Tour he is coming to a course he's not at all familiar with, unlike the Byron Nelson.

One of the events with the longest traditions on the PGA Tour is happening June 8th through the 14th. It's the St. Jude Classic from the TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee and the primary beneficiary of this prestigious tournament is of course St. Jude's Children's Research Center and Hospital. New this year, is the partnership with Cellular South, who has agreed to donate $1000 to St. Jude's for every eagle made throughout the tournament. With the caliber of golfers on the field, Cellular South will be donating quite a bit of money before this tournament is over.

This year's field includes Phil Mickelson, who committed to playing in the tournament on Friday, after announcing recently that he would take a break from the PGA Tour, due to his wife, Amy, being diagnosed with breast cancer nearly four weeks ago. She is undergoing surgery soon, but Mickelson decided to play in the meantime, a first for Mickelson since 2001, since he will be missing other tournaments due to the surgery, including the U.S. Open. Other notable players taking the field this year are Justin Leonard, defending his 2008 title, Henrik Stenson, Camilo Villegas, Sergio Garcia, John Daly and Padraig Harrington.

The TPC Southwind in Memphis is 7,244 yard course that is listed as a par 70, and is one of the most inviting courses in the country, with the final hole featuring a water hazard on the first two shots, and fairway bunkers on the right. Over the years some of the best golfers in the world have played on this course including Fred Haas, the tournaments first winner in 1945, Jack Nicklaus in 1965, Lee Trevino in 1971, beating four runners up by 4 points, and more recently Justin Leonard in 2008, with Robert Allenby and Trevor Immelman as runners-up. Leonard also won in 2005, and the 2007 runner up was Brian Davis with Woody Austin taking home the trophy for that year.
