The PGA Tour will be holding the Reno Tahoe Open this week, which will take place August 4^th through the &th and it happens at the Montreaux Golf and Country Club this year, which is located in Reno, Nevada. This tournament features a purse of more than $2,000,000 and the winner will take home a check for more than $540,000. Matt Bettencourt was the championship last year, winning the cash prize as well as 250 FedEx Cup points. Next on the Tour, the World Golf Championships Bridgestone happens August 4^th through the 11^th as well.

The field for this year's Reno Tahoe Open includes Tom Pernice Jr., Martin Piller and Aron Price as well as Lee Janzen, Justin Hicks and Woody Austin. Briny Baird will also be participating, as well as Dicky Pride, Richard S. Johnson and Cameron Beckman. The PGA Tour will have several tournaments in July, the John Deere Classic, which is a fair sized event with a purse of $4,400,000 and the AT&T National which is worth more than six million plus the Reno Tahoe Open, held July 15^th through the 18^th. This tournament has a purse of $3.5 million, and the winner walks away with $630,000. Plus the winner gets 250 FedEx Cup points. The 2010 event at the Montreux Golf & Country Club will be hosted by Scott McCarron, and will be held in Reno, Nevada. John Rollins is the defending champion, and last year's tournament saw Rollins with a score of -17. Then, Jeff Quinney and Martin Laird came in at second place at -14. Joe Ogilvie had a -13 and then Alex Cejka finished at 12 under. The Montreux Golf and Country Club has a total yardage of 7472 and is rated a Par 72 for difficulty. The course has been opened since 1997 and should make for a great tournament.
