Farmers Insurance Open Live

The Farmer’s Insurance Open will be January 28^th to the 31^st this year as part of the brand new 2010 PGA Tour season. The tournament hits the Torrey Pines Golf Course in La Jolla, California this week with 500 FedEx Cup Points up for grabs as well as a large chunk of the more than five million dollar prize purse, $954,000. The Torrey Pines North course is a Par 72 and 6,874 Yards long. The South course was redone in 2002 and hosted the U.S. Open in 2008. It’s a Par 72 as well, and is 7,569 yards. Practice rounds for the Farmers Insurance Open Live begin on Monday, January 25^th and the tournament will go to Sunday, January 31^st. This is a great tournament that started back in 1952 and originally was called the San Diego Open. Farmer’s Insurance just recently began as the main sponsor of this event.

The field consists of number two from the World Golf Rankings, Phil Mickelson, players from the PGA Tour money list top ten, Bubba Watson, Robert Allenby, Bill Haas and Ryan Palmer, as well as some of the top ten from the FedExCup Standings and past winners of this tournament Nick Watney, John Daly and Mickelson.
