The 2014 CIMB Classic (started in 2010) will be hosted by the Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 30th October 2014 to 2nd November 2014. It is a golf tournament co-sanctioned by the Asian as well as the PGA Tour (for the 2015 season).
The course at the Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club is 6, 951 yards long (6, 356 m) and has a par at 72 strokes. It has a total prize money of $ 7, 000, 000.00 with the winners share placed at $ 1, 260, 000.00. It has a field of 78 players with FedEx Cup points up for grabs for those making the cut while the winner earns a call to the Masters.
This first ever event to be sanctioned by the PGA Tour in Southeast Asia has always been won by golfers form the United States of America. The 2010 champion was Ben Crane, in 2011 it was won by Bo Van Pelt, the 2012 edition was won by Nick Watney while the 2013 edition was won by Ryan Moore. The tournament record score was achieved by the 2011 winner Bo Van Pelt. He did it in 261 strokes with a 23 strokes below par performance.

On the PGA Tour's list of featured tournaments, the second one is the CIMB Classic, which is held at the MINES Resort and Golf Club, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia held from the 25th of October to the 28th with a $6,100,000 purse. Bo Van Pelt is the defending champion for this event, taking home $1,300,000 last year. The next event on the Featured Events calender is going to be the World Golf Championships HSBC Open, and it will be held at the Mission Hills Golf Club in Guangdong, China, from the 1st of November to the 4th.
Most recently on the PGA Tour, the McGladrey Classic was played at the Seaside Course in Sea Island, Georgia. That tournament was worth $4,000,000 with a $720,000 grand prize, and it was Tommy Gainey who won this year. It was held as part of the PGA Tour's Fall Series, from the 18th of October to the 21st. Some of the players that will be participating in the CIMB Classic 2012 include Chris Kirk, Trevor Immelman, Carl Pettersson and Martin Laird as well as Tiger Woods, Kevin Na, Ben Crane, Bob Estes and Marcus Fraser.
