AT and T National Live

The AT and T National is the next event on the PGA Tour, happening June 30^th through July 3^rd at the Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania. This is a $6,200,000 purse that has Justin Rose returning to defend his title and hopefully take home another $1,116,000 and 500 FedEx Cup points. It will be followed by the John Deere Classic, which happens July 7^th through the 10^th at the TPC Deer Run in Illinois, and then we head to Madison, Mississippi to play the Viking Classic, from July 14^th to the 17^th.

Last year, Justin Rose won this tournament with ten under, followed by Ryan Moore and Jeff Overton. There are a few PGA Tournaments happening in the month of July. The John Deere Classic will be played as well as the Reno Tahoe Open. Also, we have the AT and T National which will be held July 1^st through the 4^th, and will be played for $6.200.000. The winner will walk away from the tournament with more than a million dollars. Tiger Woods is the defending champion for this event, taking home a cool million last year. He'll be playing again this year. The venue is the Aronimink Golf Club which is located in the United States, in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, and its a Par 70 course. The winner's share of the prize purse is $1,116,000 plus 500 FedEx Cup points. This is the first tournament on the PGA Tour in July and but there are several other tournaments with big prize purses, like the British Open Championship, with the purse of seven million.

The field for this tournament doesn't just include past champion Tiger Woods, but there are some serious players on the field. Robert Allenby, Tim Herron, Stuart Appleby, Charles Howell III, Lee Janzen and Ted Purdy. The AT&T National, from June 29^th to July 5^th will be a star studded event that will feature some of the biggest names in golf. The tournament is hosted by Tiger Woods and the list just keeps getting better from there. Lucas Glover will be playing, having just been crowned champion at the U.S. Open last week. Tiger Woods, the number one ranked player in the world will join 119 of the world's best to the Bethesda course for this tournament, playing at the Blue Course at Congressional Country Club.

Korean American golfer Anthony Kim, the defending champion, also makes up the marquee for this tournament, already with two PGA Tour wins after joining in only 2007. Kim participated in the Walker Cup in 2005, and in last year's Ryder Cup. The tournament officially starts on June 30^th, with a purse of $6 Million dollars. In addition to Woods, who has fourteen Major wins all by himself, there are several players participating that are in the top 25 including Paul Casey, Vijay Singh, Jim Furyk, Sean O'Hair and Mike Wier. Players are showing up in droves for this prestigious tournament, with the winner receiving a check for more than a million dollars.

Part of this tournament is a ceremony to celebrate the men and women of the U.S. Military, as the event is held over the fourth of July weekend. Military personnel and their families that attend the event at the Congressional Country Club in Maryland will receive a VIP experience with snacks and beverages, and some will even caddy for the pro golfers on the field. Anthony Kim is the champion from 2008, and will defend his title this year, and K.J.Choi was the 2007 winner.
