The LPGA Wegmans will happen this year from June 22nd through the 28th, with the ladies of the LPGA competing in a tournament that has one goal in mind – graduation. The Wegmans this year is distributing 100 percent of proceeds to only those charities that can show evidence that they are working towards the tournaments goal, charities such as the Hillside Work-Scholarship Connection, and other United Way funded organizations. The purse for this exciting tournament is $2,000,000 dollars with a check handed to the winner for $300,000. It will be held at the Locust Hill Country Club, in Pittsford, NY.

Last year, over 100,000 attended, with 144 players competing. Eight of those were from the top ten, and 22 from the top 25, which made for a very impressive field indeed. Last year's winner was South Korea's Eun-Hee Ji, who was a Rolex first-time winner. The course is 6,365 Yards and a Par 72, with several narrow fairways that offer LPGA players a challenge as they move through the eighteen holes. The tournament has been hosted at Locust Hill since 1977. Some of the champions over recent years have included such names as Lorena Ochoa, who won in 2007 and 2005, Jeong Jang, Kim Saiki and Laura Davies.
The tournament has a spectacular history, dating back to its inception in 1977, where it was initially called the Bankers Trust Classic. The tournament has gone through 4 name changes since then, with Wegman's Markets having sponsored since 1998. The schedule includes several charity events before the major tournament starts, including 2 Pro-Ams and a panel with champions to aid in the charity goals of the tournament. Round one of the LPGA tournament starts on Thursday at 7:30 am local time, with round two the next day. Round three is on Saturday, starting at 8:00 am and the final round is Scheduled for Sunday, 10:00 am.
