This week on the LPGA Tour, the LPGA State Farm Classic. There are two other LPGA Tournaments being held in June. The LPGA State Farm Classic is held June 9^th through the 12^th, and it happens in Springfield, Illinois for $1,700,000. The format is 72 holes, and the history of this tournament goes back to 1976. The venue is the Panther Creek Country Club in Springfield, Illinois and it has a total yardage of 6,746 and is a Par 72. Last year's champion was Christie Kerr, who won with a score of 57, 57, 63, 69 for a total of 266 and twenty two under Par. The two runners up for 2010 were Anna Nordqvist and Na Yeon Choi who lost by one stroke.

The field for the State Farm Classic includes Brooke Beeler, Dor Carter, Sara Brown, Shi Hyun Ahn and Helen Alfredsson as well as Na Yeon Choi, Paula Creamer and Moira Dunn. The ladies of the LPGA Tour will participate in the State Farm Classic Live which will come to you from Springfield, Illinois in the United States with a giant $1,700,000 prize purse and some serious competition in the field coming in the form of some of the top players on the LPGA Tour. It's time for the State Farm Classic, part of the LPGA Tour. Don't miss one exciting second of this great tourney, being billed by the organizers as the best field in tournament history. No argument here as this event will include players such as Christie Kerr, Natalie Gulbis, Michelle Wie, Karrie Webb, Mindy Kim, Laura Diaz and Laura Davies. This tournament has gone through quite a few name changes over the past fews years, being called the Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Golf Classic upon its inception in 1976. Other names include Rail Charity Golf Classic, State Farm Rail Classic and now just the State Farm Classic.

This tournament will take place June 1^st through the 7^th, and will benefit medical and children's charities including Autism Society of America, Central Illinois Foodbank, Camp Coco, CASA and St. Judes. It will be played at the Panther Creek Country Club in Springfield, Illinois. The course is a 7,244 yard Par 72 and has a course rating of 74.2. The purse for this tournament is $1.7 and the winner will walk away with a cool $255,000 dollars.
