One of the LPGA Tour's four majors is coming up on June 8th, in Havre de Grace, Maryland. This will be the 29th year that this tournament has been sponsored by McDonald's and held at Bulle Rock, in Havre de Grace. This will also sadly be the last year for both the location and the sponsor. This tournament, as always, will distribute the proceeds to Ronald McDonald House Charities, and expect a great lineup as some of the best players in the LPGA will be on the course competing for the $2,000,000 in prize money and the LPGA Championshipo Trophy. Some of those include defending champion Yani Tseng, Lorena Ochoa, Se Ri Pak, Morgan Pressel and Paula Creamer.

Throughout the 28 year history this tournament has also played host to a multitude of huge names in the illustrious history of the LPGA including Nancy Lopez, Sandra Post, Laura Davies, Juli Inkster, Ayako Okamoto, Betsy King, Patty Sheenan and of course three time champion Annika Sorenstam. Prior to being at Bulle Rock, the tournament was known as the McDonald's Kids Classic played at White Manor Country Club in Malvern, Penn, and earned major ranking in Wilmington, DE at the DuPont Country Club. Not only does the tournament benefit Ronald McDonald's House Charities, but also several other children's charities as well.
Yani Tseng is the defending champion from last year, and the twenty year old golfer is the 2nd ranked best female golfer in the world. She played against Maria Hjorth last year, in a SD play-off and took her to the podium winning the Louise Suggs Rookie of the Year Award. She also just finished grabbing a victory at the LPGA Corning Classic, and the stats say that she has improved her performance from last year, ranking third on the money list and averaging ¾ of a stroke better than last year, at 70 strokes per round. Tseng claims that it was the victory at Bulle Rock that gave her career the jump start it needed, saying that she got more confident on both the course and in herself.

Last year's sudden death tournament saw Tseng sink a 7 footer on the fourth sudden death hole to become the second youngest player ever to take home an LPGA Major trophy, playing in the McDonald's LPGA Championship 2008 just four months after her eighteenth birthday. She and Maria Hjorth both finished at 12 under par, which was incredibly one stroke better than both Lorena Ochoa and Annika Sorenstam.
