LPGA Kraft Nabisco Championship Live

The LPGA Tour will heads to California this week for the last tournament in March for the Tour, and then will be followed by the only LPGA Tournament in April, the Avnet LPGA Classic, which happens in Mobile, Alabama from April 28^th to May 1^st and will be held for $1,300,000. After that, it is on to Gladstone, New Jersey for the Sybase Match Play Championship. The LPGA's last tournament in March will start on the 31^st and extend until April 3^rd and it is called the Kraft Nabisco Championship, playing Rancho Mirage, California for $2,000,000. The tournament started in 1972 but didn't become a major event on the Tour until 1983. It is played in 72 hole format and the champion from last year was Yani Tseng who finished up against Suzanne Pettersen with a score of 69-71-67-68 for 275 and a total of thirteen under Par. Petterson was the runner up by only one stroke behind the winner.

This year, the field includes Shi Hyun Ahn and Helen Alfredsson as well as Amanda Blumenherst and Nicole Castrale. Chella Choi is also on the field along with Laura Davies, Laura Diaz and Paula Creamer and Katie Futcher. Also playing are Sophie Gustafson, Natalie Gulbis, Hee-Won Han, Sandra Gal and returning to defend her title will be Yani Tseng. The Ladies Professional Golf Association Kraft Nabisco Championship comes to you from Rancho Mirage, California and it is going to be worth a prize purse of $2,000,000. Also this month is the Mojo 6, which will be played in Montego Bay, Jamaica, and The Tres Marias Championship, which will be played from Mexico April 29^th through May 2^nd. Right now the Rolex Rankings have Lorena Ochoa in first place, followed by Jiyai Shin and Ai Miyaizato. After those three are Suzann Peterson and Yani Tseng making up the rest of the top five.

Last year, it was Brittany Liniciome who won the Championship beating both Kristy McPherson and Cristie Kerr by one stroke. This event has been going on since 1972 and has been a major on the tour since 1983. It's a 72 hole format, stroke play and its played at the Mission Hills Country Club on the Dinah Shore Tournament Course.
