On the LPGA Tour this week is the HSBC Women's Golf Champions, a tournament that will be held from the 23rd to the 26th of February and is held in Singapore. This event is worth $1,400,000 and it is a 72 hole format event that started back in 2008. Last year, we saw Karrie Webb take home the title with a winning score of thirteen under and 70 plus 66 plus 70 plus 69 for a total of 275. She beat Chie Aruimura by one stroke to win the tournament. Two other tournaments happen in February on the LPGA Tour, the ISPS Handa Women's Australian Open and the Honda LPGA Thailand Open.

Here are some of the ladies that will be playing in this year's LPGA HSBC Womens Golf Champions. Amanda Blumenherst will play this year along with Paula Creamer and Laura Davies. The LPGA Tour has two tournaments in February as we begin the season of professional golf for the ladies. The first is the February 17th through the 20th Honda LPGA Thailand, which happens in Chonburi Thailand is a big tournament with a purse of $1,450,000. The HSBC Womens Champions is a tournament that will happen February 24th through the 27th and will be held in Singapore for a purse of $1,400,000. This tournament is in 72 hole format and has been played since 2008, one of the newest on the calender. The defending champion is Ai Miyazato who is the defending of the only other tournament in February as well on the 2011 LPGA Calender, the LPGA Honda PTT Thailand. Last year, she beat Cristie Kerr by two strokes with a score of 69-71-69-69=278 and then under.

Here are some of the highlights on the field this year for the HSBC Women's Champions. Kyeong Bae will be playing along with Amanda Bluemenherst, Nicole Castrale and Na Yeon Choi. Sophie Gustafson, Katherine Hull and Paula Creamer will all be playing and of course we can't leave out the runner up last year Cristie Kerr or the winner of the 2010 Ai Miyazato, both of whom will be returning.
