On the LPGA Tour this week, the LPGA HanaBank Championship live, a tournament that is scheduled to run from October 19th to the 21st. It happens in Incheon, South Korea, and has a $1,800,000 purse. As we near the end of the season for golf, the next tournament is from October 25th to the 28th and it is called the Sunrise LPGA Taiwan Championship, held in Yang Mei, Taoyuan, Taiwan for $2,000,000. After that, the series holds the $1,200,000 Mizuno Classic, which will happen in Shima-Shi, Japan.
The most recent LPGA Tournament was the Sine Darby LPGA Malaysia, and it was in Kuala Lumpur, for $1,900,000. The winner of that event was Inbee Park. The players that will be filling the field of this LPGA event include Na Yeon Choi, Hee-Won-Han and Katherine Hull as well as Jennifer Johnson, Vicky Hurst and I.K. Kim. The LPGA Hana Bank Championship Presented by SK Telecom will happen October 29th through the 31st in Incheon, South Korean for a total prize purse of $1,800,000. Last year's tournament was won by Na Yeon Choi who took a score of 68-71-67 for a total of 206 and ten under defeating Yani Tseng and Maria Hjorth who were one stroke behind. This tournament started in 2001 but then was subsequently put on hold because of action by the American Military. It's 54 holes and the venue is the Sky 72 Golf Club Ocean Course in Incheon, South Korea.

The Ladies Professional Golf Association has a tournament starting Friday, October 30th called the LPGA Hana Bank Kolon Championship, lasting through to November 1st and featuring a prize purse of $1,700,000 dollars for these women. The tournament is held in Incheon, South Korea and Candie Kung was the 2008 champion of this tournament. Kung took first place last year with a total of 210 and scooped up a prize of $240,000 big ones. Second place with just one point more was Katherine Hull, winning a second place prize of just under $150,000 dollars. Tied for third place in 2008 were Jee Young Lee, Sofie Gustafson, Jeong Jang and Hee-Won-Han. The tournament was held at the Sky 72 Golf Club October 31st through November 2nd. Suzann Petterson won the tournament the year before that, with Eun-Hee Ji as runner up and Seon Hwa Lee and Jeong Jang tied for third.
This year's field includes several big names as the LPGA makes a two week stopover in Asia, including defending Champion Candie Kung, Lorena Ochoa, who will be trying for a fourth title this year, and rookie Jiyai Shin, who is ranked directly after Ochoa in the Rolex.
