The LPGA Tour continues with the Evian Masters July 23^rd to the 26^th, 2009. This tournament takes place at the Evian Masters Golf Club, in Evian-les Bains, France and with a $3.25 million dollar purse, the ladies of the LPGA will be bringing their best to the tournament this year. On of those players is a women who landed on the top five of the leaderboard when it was all over – Lorena Ochoa. She is a favorite to win this year, having eight victories in 2007, her very first year of making her mark in the world of professional golf. She also won her first major in 2007, taking the British Open at St. Andrews and set a record by becoming the first women to surpass four million dollars in earnings in a single season.

This tournament comes directly after the 2009 U.S. Women's Open, arguably the biggest event on the LPGA Tour Calendar, which was held at the Saucon Valley Country Club. The ladies who were able to come out on top there, and take home a part of the $3,250,0000 purse, the same amount that will be distributed to the winners of this year's Evian Open, were Eun Hee Ji in first place, Candie Kung taking runner up, and Cristie Kerr in third place. In-Kyung Kim and Brittany Lincicome in fourth and fifth place respectively.

Last year the Evian Masters saw Angela Park and Na Yeon Choi take runner up to Evian Masters winner Helen Alfredsson. This was Alfredsson's first LPGA title in five years competing against Na Yeon Choi at the third sudden death hole. Jin Joo Hong came in fourth, while Lorena Ochoa took fifth place at last year's tournament.
