CVS LPGA Challenge Live

September 24^th through the 27^th will be the LPGA Tour event, the CVS/Pharmacy LPGA Challenge live. This event has already garnered commitments from some of the top LPGA Players including Hall of Famer Julie Inkster, and money board leaders Paula Creamer, Christina Kim and Natalie Gulbis. This event traditionally has one of the best fields on the LPGA Tour schedule and this year is certainly no exception to that. Another player that you'll see is 2008 champion In-Yung Kim, who is fifth on the money list so far this year, and is having a great season earning a million dollars already.

The course is the Blackhawk Country Club in San Ramon Valley and the course is a 6,904 yarder that lines a lake, opened in 1979. The tournament winners from past seasons include Suzann Pettersen from Norway, and Karrie Webb in 2006 as well as Kim, while the course was played at Blackhawk. Other winners include Chilean Nicole Perrot in 2005, Christina Kim, Helen Afredsson and American Cristie Kerr in 2002, while the tournament was played at the Twelve Bridges Golf Club. The winners share for last year's tournament was $180,000 dollars and the total purse was 1.2 million dollars.

Just before this tournament will be the Samsung World Championships in San Diego, California, and it will be followed by the Navistar LPGA Classic, a $1.500,000 event in Prattville, Ala., and the Hana Bank Kolon Championship October 30^th through November 1^st in South Korea, which is worth a total of 1.7 million dollars.
