This year the LPGA’s Arkansas Championship will be sponsored by P&G Beauty and will offer excitement as some of the top names in the LPGA scramble to come away with the top prize. While the event is a new fixture on the LPGA tour it already holds its place as one of the most exciting events of the year. It all began in 2007 at the Pinnacle Country Club where young amateur Stacy Lewis came away with the top prize. Unfortunately she did not get a part of the winner’s prize money thanks to the fact that she was an amateur, but it was an exciting win for her to say the least.

The event was cut short that year thanks to some unfortunate weather and Lewis was named the winner after leading after just 18 holes. The entire purse for the event was split in half thanks to the stoppage in play, but the tournament did begin in a memorable way to say the least.
In 2008 Korean Seon Hwa Lee won the first ever Arkansas Championship that actually made it to the end of the event. She took home a rather large prize of $225,000 as the tournament prize grew to an impressive $1,700,000 thanks to the support of Procter and Gamble. She will be in the field again this year and will definitely be looking to come away with the top prize again but will face some stiff competition.
