The Nationwide Tour will be holding the Utah Championship this week, a tournament that is held at the Willow Creek Country Club in Sandy, Utah with a $550,000 purse and running from July 28^th to the 31^st. Michael Putnam is the defending champion, winning $99,000 last year and returning to defend his title this year. The next tournament on the Nationwide Calendar is the Cox Classic presented by Lexus of Omaha, held at Champion's Run, in Omaha Nebraska from August 4^th through the 7^th. Previously on the tour, Russel Knox won the Chiquita Classic.

The players on the tour this year include Brad Adamonis, Stephen Gangluff and Justin Peters as well as Ted Purdy, Dicky Pride and Steven Alker. Matt Baird is also playing in this tournament along with Andy Bare, Jeff Gove and Brett Quigley. Matt Hedrix, Michael Sims, Adam Bland, Brian Bateman and Brian Stuard are also scheduled to play in this Nationwide Tour event. The Nationwide Tour will go to Sandy, Utah this week for the Utah Championship Presented by Utah Sports Commission with a $550,000 purse, held at the Willow Creek Country Club, with the tournament dates September 9th through the 12th. The Willow Creek Country Club has a value of Par 71, and a total yardage of 7,104. The purse is $550,00 and the winner gets to take home $99,000 of that. Last year, the tournament was won by Josh Teater, which was his first professional win and an amazing performance on the course in Sandy, Utah. He finished with 68, and a 20 under. Tyler Aldridge came in second place with a score of 16 under and then there were four tied for third place with fifteen under, including Andrew Buckle Steve Wheatcroft, John Kimbell and Matt Jones.

The Utah Championship is an event that has been a staple in the world of golf for quite sometime. While it doesn’t attract the big names, obviously seeing as it is a Nationwide Tour event, it has seen a number of up and coming names make their mark before moving onto the big time.
