Melwood Prince Georges County Open Live

The Nationwide Tour begins in June with the Melwood Prince Georges County Open which is to be held on The University of Maryland Golf Course which is in College Park, Maryland. The dates are Monday, May 31^st through Sunday, June 6^th and the tournament is presented by Under Armour. The purse if $600,000 and the winner walks away with $108,000. Just because this tournament is relatively new on the Nationwide Tour certainly doesn't mean it shouldn't be watched. It is one of the more exciting events on the Nationwide Tour played in Mitchellville, Maryland at the Country Club at Woodmore. It will be played all the entire first week of June, from the 1^st to the 7^th with the winner walking away with over $121,000, and a total winner's purse of $675,000 dollars. 

Last year it all came down to the final three holes between Jeff and Jeff. Jeff Klauk bogeyed two holes, the 16^th and 17^th, but then birdied on the last hole beating Jeff Brehaut by one point. Brehaut tied for second with David Mathis, both golfers earning a score of 277 and walking away with more than $50,000. Klauk – the winner – went home with a prize of $117,000 dollars. The 2007 winner – the first of the tournament, was Paul Claxton.
