Wal Mart First Tee Open at Pebble Beach Live

Nature Valley Presents the 2009 Walmrt First Tee Open at Pebble Beach, August 31^st through September 6^th, once again this Labor Day weekend, to showcase participants of the First Tee Facilities Worldwide talent and character. This Champion's Tour event puts a junior golfer with a Champion's Tour player and two amateurs, with a total of seventy eight junior spots being awarded. Seventy spots are chosen from two events in July of Golf and Life Skills. Then, there are eight more spots that are handled as exemptions and filled by the Monterey Peninsula Foundation, which is the organization hosting the event.

This event allows young people to use golf to learn life lessons, and tries to change the normal high-level sport's propensity for their athletes to deny being role-models or to take responsibility for their actions in order to teach the correct morals and positive life lessons. Golf is an event that by it's nature teaches positive life lessons, and depends upon them for its existence, since participants basically have to be honest every time they hit a ball, or mark down their score, where there are no officials to keep score and make rulings, and where only the golfer themselves knows if the score they claim is the score they actually shot.

The First Tee is an initiative put forth by the World Golf Foundation, whose mission is to change the lives of young people by giving them facilities in which to learn and programs that teach and promote character and life values through the game of golf.
