The 28th Senior Open Championship is a professional golf tournament for those players that are aged 50 and above 50. It is scheduled to being on the 24th July to 27th July 2014. The tournament is presented by Rolex. The Senior Open Championship is played at Royal Porthcawl Golf Club, Porthcawl, Wales and the prize money for the tournament is US$2 million.  Most of the world’s golfing legends participate in this tournament that is organized on a yearly basis. Tom Watson will the player to watch after he won the Championship three times between 2003 and 2007 and he will be looking to win it for a fourth time. But Colin Montgomerie will be looking to make it a hat-trick of victories at Royal Porthcawl.

Part of the European Tour, the Senior Open Championship is one of the biggest championships in the golfing world. It has a total purse of 2 Million Dollars with the winner getting the share of $315,000. It will be taking place from 25th to 28th July, 2013 and will be featuring some of the top senior golfers in the world. It will be held at the Royal Birkdale, which is the 11th venue to host the event ever since it first started in 1987.

This week on the Champions Tour, the Senior Open Championship presented by Rolex will be held from the 26th of July to the 29th. It happens at the Turnberry Club on the Ailsa Course in Turnberry, Scotland. The purse is $2,000,000 and the defending champion is Russ Cochran who walked away with $315,600 last year. From August 3rd to the 5th will be the 3M Championship at the TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minnesota, with a $1,750,000 purse. After that the Champions Tour holds the Dick's Sporting Goods Open starting August 3rd.
