Tiger Woods Grasps the World No 1 Ranking with BMW Championship Win

Tiger WoodsNothing went wrong this past weekend for Tiger Woods as he stormed towards yet another big victory. He found himself stuck behind trees, his ball stuck in the crows but still managed to find a way to birdie his way through almost every hole.

Although Woods had a tough month overall, it all came together this week for the best player in the world. Just a day after he shot a course record of 62, Woods pulled out another impressive day with his familiar red shirt. He pulled off an 8 shot win over his closest competitors Marc Leishman and Jim Furyk.

This made for Woods’ 6th victory of the year and he will now have the 1st overall seed for the FedEx cup which will be the final tournament of the year. While it all looks positive for him right now, it is impressive to see how he bounced back from blowing this lead a few weeks ago in the PGA championship. The following few weeks he also blow a chance at a victory in the Liberty National but this weekend found a way to close it out.

Overall Woods finished with a very impressive 19 under at Cog Hill, which made it the 10th time he has won a PGA event by more than 8 shots. That feat alone can book the argument that Woods is one of, if not then, the best players the world has ever seen.

Other than Woods, it was also a big day for Jim Furyk as his second place finish moved him all the way up to the No. 3 spot for the FedEx Cup. He now has a shot to win the Cup if he can pull off a victory somehow at the Tour Championship.
