Sicilian Open Live

March 29^th to the 1^st of April on the European Tour this week we have the Sicilian Open, which is worth a million Euros. It will be held at the Verdura Golf & Spa Resort in Sicily, Italy. This tournament started last year, held then at the Donnafugata Golf Resort and Spa and was won by Raphael Jacquelin. The two tournaments that will follow this one are the Master's Tournament at the Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia, the Untied States, from April 5^th to the 8^th, and the April 12^th to the 15^th Maybank Malaysian Open in Kuala Lumpur.

Here are some of the players that will make up this year's Field for the Sicilian Open. Rich Beem and Soren Kjeldsen will be playing along with Thomas Levet and Christan Cevaer. Others include Nicolas Colsaerts, Richard Green and Garth Mulroy as well as Kenneth Ferrir and last year's winner Raphael Jacquelin. Tom Lewis is playing as is Brandon Grace. The Sicilian Open will be held this week along with several other tournament in March. The Open de Andalucia de Golf at the Parador de Malaga Golf, in Malaga, Spain from March 24^th through the 27^th for a million Euros. Then, March 31^st through April 3^rd will be the Trophee Hassan II, held at the Gold du Palais Royal and Golf de L'Ocean in Agadir, Morocco. As for the Sicilian Open, it happens March 17^th through the 20^th at the Donnafugato Golf Resort and Spa in Sicily, Italy for a million Euros. The Dannafugato Golf Resort and Spa is a Par 71 course and it is 7,182 yards. The Sicilian Open has no history because this is the first year the tournament has been held. The sport of golf is just starting to take hold in Italy with the Molinaris and Matteo Manassero showing what is possible. This is just one of two events on the European Tour that are played in Italy in the 2011 season.
