The France Open in Alstom is July 2nd through the 5th, next Thursday through Sunday. It will take place on one of the greatest championship courses available, the Albatross, which was designed by Hubert Chesneau and Robert Von Hagge in1990. This tournamet – The Open – has been played sixteen times on the Albatros and it has a stadium design that allows for quite a few more spectators than the everage course.

John Daly will be one of the top players that will be participating in the Open. This is the first time at the tournament for Daly, and his skills at long drives will certainly attract some fans. The American golfer finished up second at the Italian Open back in May and he had his first major win in 1991 at the U.S. PGA Championship, entering as a reserve. A second Major win came after a hiatus, at the 1995 The Open Championship.
Another golfer to watch is Padriag Harrington, from Italy. Harrington has five PGA wins and 14 on the European Tournament. He is tied for fifteenth of all time I that tournament and his total of professional wins number twenty four, including last year's The Open Championship, picking up PGA Tour Player of the Year, and European Tour Player of the Year last year as well.
Angel Cabrera is another golfer who is excited about this tournament, saying that the Albatros Coure has a terrific design and is challenging. Cabrera says it means a lot to play in France, where he played for so many years, and that the Open de France will feel like coming home. Lee Westwood said that two of the closing holes are the most difficult, but that the course is fair. He said he's like to add the Open de France to his list of tour wins soon.
