On the European Tour this week is the Omega European Masters, a tournament that happens September 1st through the 4th and it will be held at Crans-sur-Sierre, in Crans, Montana in Switzerland. This tournament is worth two million Euros and will be followed by the KLM Open, which is sheld at the Hilversumsche Golf Club in the Netherlands from September 8th to the 11th for 1.8 million Euros. The previous tournament on the European Tour was the Czech Open, which happened at the Prosper Golf Report in Czech Republic and was won by Oliver Fisher.

Players participating in this year's Omega European Masters include Darrent Clark, Rory McIlroy, Todd Hamilton and Martin Kaymer as well as Lee Westwood and Colin Montgomerie. September 2nd through the 5th is the Omega European Masters, taking place in Crans-sur-Sierre,Crans Montana, Switzerland with a purse of €2,000,000. First place is this tournament will get to take home a big chunk of the €2,000,000 purse, with €333,330 with second place taking €222,220 and third getting €125,200. Fourth place takes home a check for €100,000 and fifth gets €84,800. A Par 71 is the value for the Crans-Sur-Sierre and the total yardage is 6,822. Some of those who will be playing this tournament include Michael Campbell, Simon Khan, Soren Kjeldsen, Paul McGinley, Chrisian Cevaer, David Howell and Miguel Angel Jimenez. Martin Kaymer leads the Race to Dubai right now with Graeme McDowell coming in second. In third is Lee Westwood from England and Ernie Els in fourth. The Omega European Masters will be held again this year at Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club in Switzerland, and will do something that no other tournament ever has in history – receive simultanours co-sanctioning by the Asian Tour. This means that 30 players of the 156 on the field this year will be coming from the Asian Tour. This is also the first time that the Asia tour has particpated in a European event, the title sponsor, Omega Watches is part of the driving force behind this merge. The Omega European Masters starts on Monday, August 31st.

Last year it was Jean-Francois Lucquin from France who took number one, earning 68 points in the first round, and another 67 in the second. He got 69 points in the third round and another 67 in the fourth for a total of 271 points and a thirteen under Par score. Second place was Rory McIlroy who ended up with the same score and same under par, but took second, while Christian Cevaer from France , Julien Clement, Miguel Angel Jimenez and Gary Orr from Scotland tied for third place with a twelve under par finish.

The tournament starts on Monday, August 31st, with the Pro-Am, and then the professionals do training on Tuesday. The Credit Suisse Golf Pro-Am in on Wednesday, and then the first round of the Omega European Masters tournament begins on Thursday, September 3rd at 7:40am. The second round is on Friday, the third the next day and the fourth and final round on Sunday morning. The trophy ceremony takes place later that day.
