This week on the European Tour, the Iberdrola Open Cala Millor Mallorca live will happen starting May 12th. The Volvo World Match Play Championship will follow, held from May 19th to the 22nd and it will happen at the Finca Cotesin Golf Club in Andalucia, Spain. The Iberdrola Open is going to happen this week from May 12th through the 15th and it happens at the Pula Golf Club in Son Servera, Mallorca Spain. The prize purse for the tournament is €1,000,000. Prior to this tournament was the Ballantine's Championship at the Blackstone Golf Club in Inheon, Seoul, Korea Republic and it was won by Lee Westwood. Before that, the Volvo China Open happened at the Luxehills International Country Club in China from April 21st through the 24th and was won by Nicolas Colsaerts.

The players that will be competing in the Iberdrola Open include Colin Montgomerie and David Howell as well as Simon Khan, Jeev Mikha Singh and Christian Cevaer. Also playing are Gregory Bourdy, Ross McGowan, Oskar Henningsson, Nick Doughterty, Thomas Levet and Shane Lowry. Juan Antonio Bragulat and Javi Colomo are also playing. We return to the European Tour for a tournament called the Iberdrola Open Cala Millor Mallorca which will be played at the Pula Golf Club in Mallorca, Spain, May 13th through the 16th. This is the tournaments very first year and Iberdrola, Spain's largest energy company and power producer will be the title sponsor for the event. The Pula Golf Club is a total of 6,808 yards and it is a Par 70 course. This tournament has been held since 2003, named then simply the Open Cala Millor Mallorca and the first three times that the tournament was played, golfers from Spain won. The first time was Miguel Angel Jimenez and then Sergio Garcia the next year with 2004 Champion being Jose Maria Olazabal in 2005. The first place winner this year will receive a prize of 133,330 Euros while second place gets 88,880 and third receives 50,080 Euros.

The race to Dubai standings show that right now Englishman Ian Poulter leads the pack, with over 1.3 million Euros earned so far while second place is Charl Schwartzel with 1.28. Third is Ernie Els and then two more from England take fourth and fifth with Lee Westwood and Paul Casey. The rest of the top ten include Alvaro Quiros, Martin Kaymer, Camilo Villegas, Y.E.
