The Alstom Open happens at the Le Golf National in the capital city of Paris, France from June 30th to July 3rd. It is a tournament worth €3,000,000. This is the oldest golf tournament in continental Europe and last year it was Miguel Angel Jimenez who was able to take home the title, and he returns this year to defend it. He was 46 years old last year when he won, making him the oldest golfer to take home this trophy. The Spaniard beat Alejando Canizares, also from Spain and Francesco Molinari from Italy last year in a sudden death finale.

However, the first ever qualifier to win the event came only in 2008, in the form of Pablo Larrazabal, which puts him in an elite class, only one of eight European Tour players go win an event after qualifying for it. First prize in this tournament will walk away with €500,000 and the Le Golf National is a Par 71 course, with a total yardage of 6675 meters or 7300 yards.
