The 2015 Abu Dhabi Golf Championship will take place from January 15 to January 18 2015 at the Abu Dhabi Gold Club, United Arab Emirates. The tournament was first played in 2006, it has been a part of the European Tour since inception.

The course is 7, 600 yards long (6, 900 m) and has a par of 72. The tournament is played in the stroke play format and the total prize money is $2,700,000. The tournament record score is held by Martin Kaymer of Germany. In 2011 his record aggregate score was 264 along with a record par score of -24.  The defending champion is Pablo Larrazabal of Spain.

Martin Kaymer has won the competition a record three times out of nine. Rory Mcllroy has been a record runner up three times but has failed to win it ever. Paul Casey of England has won the tournament twice. The other three winners were Chris DiMarco of the United States, Robert Rock of England and Jamie Donaldson of Wales. So far in the three finished tournaments in the 2015 European Tour the first was won by Danny Willett of England, the second was won by Branden Grace of South Africa while the last one was won by Andy Suliivan of England.

On the European Tour this week, the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship, which will be played at the Abu Dhabi Golf Club in UAE. It happens starting the 17th of January and goes to the 20th and will feature a $2,700,000 prize purse. The next tournament on the calender happens from January 23rd to the 26th and it is the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters in Doha, Qatar. There is also the Omega Dubai Desert Classic coming up this month, and the Africa Open will happen starting February 14th at the East London Golf Club.

Louis Oosthuizen won that tournament with 272 and 16 under. The prize purse was two million Euros. Competing in this tournament are Ernie Els, Darren Clark and Padraig Harrington, as well as Rory McIlroy and Martin Kaymer. Justin Rose will also be playing along with Colin Montgomerie, Michael Campbell, Paul Casey, Soren Kjeldsen and Simon Khan.

On the European Tour from January 26th to the 29th is the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Champions, happening at the Abu Dhabi Golf Club in the United Arab Emirates. This $2,700,000 tournament is the last one that is to be held on the Tour in January, and will be followed by the CommercialBank Quatar Masters presented by Dolphin Energy. That one happens in Doha, Quatar, at the Doha Golf Club form the 2nd to the 5th, and after that is the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, which is at the Emirates Golf Club in Dubai, UAE.
