The tournament began in 2006, and the venue has remained the same for the past few years. The tournament consists of eight man teams which play a total of sixteen rounds representing both Asia and Europe. The format is similar to the Ryder Cup and in fact was inspired by the Cup and is one of the newest of the team golf events that have been popping up since the 1990's. The King of Thailand donates a trophy that goes to the winner and this is a prestigious tournament to take part in, and even more prestigious to win.

In 2009 it was Asia who took the trophy from Europe with a score of ten to six. The captain for Europe was Jose Maria Olazabel and the Captain for Asia was Joe Ozaki. The prior year the tournament was cancelled but in 2007 Europe won the event 12 ½ to 3 ½ and then in 2006 it was Europe yet again with a score of nine to Asia's 7. Don't miss this tournament.
