Golfing action will continue in the Asian Tour this week with the Selangor Masters in Malaysia. The event will be hosted by the Seri Selangor GC for the second year in succession. The golf course also held the event for the first three years in which it was played between 2008 and 2010. The course measures just over 7000 yards at par 71 which is a pretty standard course in these parts.
The defending champion at this tournament is Pariya Junhasavasdikul. The top contender this week at the Selangor Masters will be Anirban Lahiri of India. Lahiri had finished 8th in 2010 and as the runner up last year. However, his record before 2010 at this circuit had been rather poor.
Lahiri has the best average score amongst all the field at this course and looks to be on course to lift the trophy. He also happens to be the highest ranked professional in the world who is competing at the Selangor Masters in Malaysia this week. The likes of Namchok Tantipokakul, Lu Wen Teh, Marciaano Pucay, Antonio Lascuna, and Scott Barr are some of the other favourites this weekend. Lascuna has a good chance at the weekend after finishing 3rd in Taiwan last week.
